About Our Books and Coffee

  • What are your opening hours? And are you open on the weekends?
    Clerkenwell's Coffee & Books welcomes guests Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6pm. On weekends, we currently operate on a 'Open by chance' basis, which means that, if you're lucky, you'll find us open and ready to serve a good cup of coffee on a Saturday and/or Sunday too!
  • Where are you located?
    Clerkenwell's is located in the heart of Islington. You can find us at 68A Compton Street, EC1V 0BN. We are a short walk away from both Farringdon Station and Angel.
  • Who's "Ziggy"?!
    Ziggy is our most ambitious member of staff - our employee of the month (every month) if you will! Ziggy is the neighborhood’s mascot who comes and goes as he pleases, occasionally takes a nap or nicks a snack and puts a smile on all of our customer‘s faces! (Like seriously, you can even filter for „cat“ in our google reviews!) Don‘t be shy, pop by and give him a pet or two, he might even give you a good book recommendation!
  • Do you have toilet facilities on your premises?
    We currently do not have toilets available for customers. Apologies.
  • How long does shipping take?
    Shipping usually takes 1-3 working days, both to your selected delivery address and to our shop if you choose 'pick up' at checkout. If you need an order urgently, the option of Express-Shipping is available and should usually arrive within the next working day if you sent your order before 3pm. If you chose store pick up and your order is urgent, feel free to reach out to us, we may be able to have your order ready for pick up the next working day.
  • How much is shipping?
    Standard Shipping costs are £2.60. Standard shipping is free for orders over £30. Express shipping costs lie at £3.50.
  • Is stock availability guaranteed for all books listed on your website?
    While we aim to keep stock information accurate, it is not always up-to-date. This means that while most orders are delivered within the usual 1-3 business days, we cannot always guarantee that a book will be available for immediate dispatch. If a book you’ve ordered is out of stock, we will notify you via email. You will then have the option to either cancel your order for a full refund or wait until the book is back in stock. Please note that we are not liable for any delays caused by stock issues. If you want to ensure the book is in stock and can be delivered within the estimated timeframe, feel free to contact us before placing your order. We're happy to check availability for you!
  • Can I order books that are not on your website?
    Our catalogue extends way beyond what is displayed on our website. If you are desperately looking for a certain book, version of a book or book cover you can't find on our website, feel free to reach out to us either through Email, Phone Call, Contact Form or by stopping by the shop, and we will let you know if the book/s you're looking for are available to order. We can then order them for you to pick up at our shop or can get them sent straight to you and you can comfortably pay through a payment link!
